The latest track from Fusilier is a deeply personal follow up from his 2018 EP, Duty. It opens with a dreamy vocal supported by a simple guitar line, setting up the tone of the entire track. By the end of the track, the only addition to the texture is a sorrowful string countermelody. ‘Upstream’ is accompanied by a simple, self-isolated video shot in his Brooklyn apartment. He explains that the track is “a song for the next day.’ I decided it’s okay to enjoy the taste of eggs in the morning, and to have nothing else to smile about.
